Private Piano Lessons

Private  Lessons

The Living Music Studio specializes in private lessons for children as young as 3,5 year-olds! Private lessons are structured to focus students on developing the necessary technical skill through the enjoyment of music and the curation of a lifelong appreciation for music in all its forms. Our goal is to tailor individual lessons to each student's skill level and musical aspirations.

We use "Tales of a Musical Journey," a pedagogical series of piano workbooks that are written in a fairytale format to introduce and expand on all basic musical concepts for young children. For older beginners, ages 10 and up, I use the “Piano Safari“ and “Piano Pronto” series, methods that has successfully resonated with my teaching philosophy at The Living Music Studio.

During lessons we use interactive games and manipulatives to make each session fun and memorable!

The Private Lesson program will include two “Music Parties” (Winter and Spring) are included in the yearly tuition. Music Parties are about 90 minutes hour long, weekend get-togethers that include numerous music games as well as a low-key performance for all students who want to attend.

We have two Music Recitals each school year!

Missed Private Lessons

Because specific times are set for specific students, a student who does not attend a lesson will simply miss the benefits of that lesson.   There are no make up times for missed private lessons!   If a student cannot come to the lesson due to mild illness or other urgent circumstance we will have an online session via FaceTime, Google Meet, Telegram or WhatsApp at the scheduled time. It's been a very successful substitute to a missed in-person lesson!

If online lesson is not possible for any reason,  I offer one hour group sessions 2 (or 3 times) each school year for all missed lessons - it's great fun for kids to play games related to improvisation, composition and music theory.

If The Living Music Studio cancels the lesson for any reason, that lesson will be credited to the student’s account!
